Driven by a lifelong obsession with music technology, cubedloop is John’s digital laboratory. His journey began on an Atari 512 before transitioning to the PC era, always fueled by a minimalist’s dream: reducing the entire studio down to a single box, and eventually, letting the hardware disappear entirely. For cubedloop, there are no rules. John embraces AI and emerging tech not as a destination, but as a vital part of the creative journey.

When the digital noise fades, John D. O’Connor emerges. This is the realm of the acoustic singer-songwriter and the solo performer. This commitment to “realism” extends to his work as a Contemporary Expressionist Realist painter. His visual work, found at johnoconnor.art, mirrors his songwriting: an honest, raw, and visceral exploration of the world around him.

The identity of .j© is where the technical meets the biological. Serving as the vocalist for the cubedloop productions, this project is centered on the pure love of music and the physical “flow of breath.” It is an exploration of linguistics and melody, where one word links to another to create a seamless, emotive narrative.
